Introduction
Process
A process is a name given to a specific type of labour within a project. Processes can have default internal and external rates per hour. The division of labour into different processes is the backbone of labour management within a project and the business as a whole.
The internal labour rates are used to calculate the estimated internal cost of labour included in a proposal. When a proposal is converted into a project, Integro uses these rates to establish labour budgets for each process or task in the project.
Internal Labour Budget
This is calculated by multiplying the estimated hours (excluding the contingency hours) by the internal hourly rate. E.g. Estimated (20) x Internal Rate Per Hour (£35) = 20 x 35 = £700.
Integro 360 allows you to enter an internal rate for each process type according to skill level.
To edit the process list and/or the company's internal labour rates, go to [Admin] - [Settings] - [Process List].
Default Charge Out Rates
Whenever you add a new process, remember to also add the default chargeout rate for the new process in the [Admin]—[Settings]—[Process Chargeout Rates] grid.
Fields
Field | Description | Notes |
---|---|---|
Display Order | The order the process appears in lists. | For example, a process called 2D drawings could be part of the mechanical design process group. |
Group | The name of the group to which the process belongs. | |
Name | The process (function or work type) name. | |
Schedule Name | How the name appears in Gantt Schedules. | |
Add To Schedule | Should this process be automatically added to Gantt Schedules? | |
Ignore Quantity | Should item quantity affect labour estimates? | Used in PERT and Proposal calculations, e.g. Mechanical Design normally only needs to be done once regardless of the number of parts being made, whereas Mechanical Assembly may need to be carried out for each item being made. |
Schedule Bar Color Value | Default background colour. | |
Schedule Bar Text Color Value | Default text colour. | |
Short Name | Abbreviation | |
Description | ||
Employee Level | The employee (skill) level for which you want to set the rate. | |
Gross Projection Rate/Hour | The estimated cost for each hour worked on this process. | This should include wages and departmental overheads to give an average cost. |
Historical Gross Rate/Hour | The average historical cost for each hour worked on this process. | It takes an average of the previous 6 months' labour and includes wages and departmental overheads to give an average historical cost. This figure compares the Gross Projection Rate/Hour. |
Contractor Projected Rate/Hour | The estimated cost for each hour worked on this process by temporary contractors. | This should include wages and departmental overheads to give an average cost. |
Historical Contractor Rate/Hour | The average historical cost for each hour temporary contractors work on this process. | It takes an average of the previous 6 months' labour and includes wages and departmental overheads to give an average historical cost. This figure provides a comparison with the Contractor's Projected Rate/Hour. |
Convert To Process | Should the hours on this process be converted to a project process when a proposal is converted to a project? | It would be highly unusual not to do this. |
Assign Automatic | Should this process be automatically created in each new proposal? | If this is not selected, the process can always be added after creating the proposal. |
Appear In Quote | Should this process be automatically displayed where processes are detailed in a proposal? | |
Supervisor | The name of the person who manages this process. |
