How the BoM is Updated

Whenever a quotation raised from a BoM is converted into a purchase order, the BoM is also updated.

The following actions are automatically triggered.

The units ordered on the BoM are updated with the quantities in the quotation.

The unit price on the BoM is calculated and updated from the quotation.

Example
  • Part A is used in 3 different areas of the BoM.
  • The quantities required for each area or 4, 3 and 8 respectively.
  • Total parts required = 15.
A quotation is raised to purchase Part A which is sold in packs of 10 and each pack costs £100. The unit price on the BoM for Part A will be set to £10 and the total value of the purchase order will be £200.
