Proposal Overview Dashboard

This chapter explains how Integro calculates and presents financial information across the proposal. Financial visibility is controlled by permissions — you may not see all the information described here depending on your role.

Proposal Costs Tab

The proposal-level Costs view provides a read-only breakdown of all costs. This is typically displayed as a tree-list grouping costs by category:

  • Labour — Internal cost, external cost, contingency cost, and margin.
  • Materials — Part costs, contingency, and markup.
  • Sub-Contracts — Sub-contractor costs and markup.
  • Expenses — Internal and external expense costs.

The tree structure allows you to expand and collapse each category to see detailed breakdowns.

Financial Badges on Module/Station Cards

When viewing the module and station cards in the Parts & Labour section, each card displays a financial breakdown badge. This badge shows a quick summary of costs for that module or station, typically including:

  • Labour cost (internal)
  • Labour sell price (external)
  • Materials cost
  • Sub-contract costs
  • Expense costs
  • Total cost
  • Total sell price
  • Profit/margin

These badges update dynamically as you add or modify items within the module or station. Visibility of individual figures depends on your financial permissions.

Profit Gauges

Circular gauges are displayed on module and station cards to provide a quick visual indicator of profitability. The gauge shows the profit margin as a percentage, allowing you to instantly identify modules or stations with low margins.

How Costs Are Calculated

Labour Costs

Internal CostHours × Internal Rate Per Hour (from Employee Level chargeout rate)
External CostHours × External Rate Per Hour
Contingency CostContingency Hours × External RPH, where Contingency Hours = Hours × (Labour Contingency % / 100)
Margin(External Cost − Internal Cost) / External Cost × 100

Material Costs

Base CostUnits Required × Item Price
With ContingencyBase Cost × (1 + Part Contingency % / 100)
With MarkupCost With Contingency × (1 + Markup % / 100). Markup % comes from the part category or a custom markup if "Use Custom Markup" is ticked.

Sub-Contract Costs

Base CostUnits Required × Item Price
With MarkupBase Cost × (1 + Markup % / 100)

Expense Costs

Internal CostThe net cost entered.
External CostThe gross cost entered (customer-facing).

Quantity Multipliers

Both modules and stations have a Quantity field. When the quantity is greater than 1, all costs within that level (and its children) are multiplied accordingly. For example:

  • A station with 10 hours of labour and a quantity of 3 will contribute 30 hours to the total.
  • A module with quantity 2 containing two stations will have all station costs doubled at the module level.

This allows you to cost one "unit" and then specify how many are needed, rather than duplicating stations/modules.

Markups and Rates

The Rates tab is the central location for all markup percentages and charge-out rates. Changes made there affect all calculations throughout the proposal:

  • Category Markups: Each part category (Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) has a default markup %. Individual parts can override this with "Use Custom Markup".
  • Chargeout Rates: Each employee level has internal and external rates per hour. Individual processes can override this with "Use Custom RPH".

Permission-Controlled Visibility

Financial information visibility depends on your user permissions:

PermissionWhat You Can See

Show Material CostsPart prices and material totals.
Show Material ContingencyPart contingency calculations.

If any of the above permissions are not granted for your role, the corresponding columns and figures will be hidden throughout the application.
